MILCOM 2002 Golf Outing Information

The MILCOM 2002 golf tournament will be held Monday, October 7th at The Black Gold Golf Club (www.blackgoldgolf.com) in Yorba Linda, just a short 15-minute drive from the Disneyland Resort. Built in the hillsides of Chino Hills State Park, the course offers incredible vistas overlooking Orange County and on a clear day Catalina Island. The outing is the perfect way for government and industry to start this very important week.

We are planning an 8:00am shotgun start with a continental breakfast starting at 6:30 and lunch immediately following golf. This will allow adequate time to return to the resort in preparation for the evening’s kick-off events.

The pairings committee will make every effort to honor requests for specific playing partners. However, our purpose is to create an opportunity for government and industry partners to begin the week of exchange in the beautiful setting of the Black Gold Golf Club. Therefore, we reserve the right to create foursomes based on the tournament entries. The golf committee in accordance with DoD regulations will pair DoD participants randomly.

Participants may sign in at the golf course starting at 6:45 a.m., but no later than 7:30 a.m. Bus transportation from the Disneyland Resort Hotels will be offered for a nominal fee.

Locker room facilities and golf club rentals are available at the golf course. Please note Black Gold Golf Club is soft spikes only. If you require rental clubs, please reserve them in advance on the MILCOM Registration Form.

Shuttle will depart Disneyland Hotel at 6:15am, Sheraton Anaheim at 6:30am.  See below map for those driving directly to the course on their own:

$6,000 "Picnic Buffet" following golf. The buffet includes hamburgers, hot dogs, two salads and soft drinks. Sponsor company will be given recognition as the lunch sponsor in the tournament literature. There will be a banner made with company logo advertising the company as the lunch sponsor. The banner will be prominently displayed in the lunch area. Sponsor company will be given a "foursome" entry into the golf tournament.

$3,000 Continental breakfast prior to golf. Breakfast includes coffee, juice, fruit and pastries that will be made available in the several areas around the clubhouse and registration area. Sponsor company will be given recognition as the breakfast sponsor in the tournament literature. There will be signage made with company logo advertising the company as the breakfast sponsor. Sponsor company will be given a "twosome" entry into the golf tournament.

$1,500 A beverage cart will travel throughout during the tournament with beer, soft drinks, water, and snacks during our golf round. Sponsor company will be given recognition as the beverage cart sponsor. The cart will have signage with the company logo. Sponsor company will be given "one" entry into the golf tournament.
Golf Skill Prizes

 

$500 each We will offer four skill prizes for sponsorship: longest drive men and women; closest to the pin men and women. Includes sponsorship of the hole and recognition in the golf tournament literature. Company will get an advertisement on the hole selected. Advertisement will be a sign with company logo. Committee will select the hole for each skill event. Winners will receive "Internet Gift Certificates" at a selected golf site.
Golf Hole Sponsors $250 each The remaining 14 holes will be made available for sponsorship. Includes recognition in the golf tournament literature. Company will get an advertisement on the hole selected. Advertisement will be a sign with company logo.
Giveaways n/a Each participant will receive a “goodie bag” upon registration.  Sponsoring companies may wish to contribute items such as golf balls, tee packages, and alike.  We are requesting a quantity of 160 such items.  This assumes a full field of 144 golfers and also providing items to our volunteers as appropriate.
