Dear MILCOM 2002 Conference Attendee:

Welcome to the 21st annual MILCOM Conference where leaders from government, industry, and academia gather to share their insight on the ever-increasing importance of information technology to our national defense and economic strength. Information and communications technologies, today’s and tomorrow’s, will determine to a large extent, our success in responding to this increasingly dynamic threat environment.

The theme for the 2002 MILCOM Conference is Global Information Grid – Enabling Transformation through 21st Century Communications. Development and implementation of the Global Information Grid (GIG) is a critical challenge to our military. Keynote speakers and seminars will focus on topics that will guide industry in providing best-in-class information technology solutions to assist the Department of Defense in responding to the needs of the future.

MILCOM 2002 offers a week full of superb military and civilian keynote speakers, over 100 unclassified and classified technical sessions, timely panel discussions, a dynamic poster session, and tutorials on important technical topics. Additionally, leading defense industry exhibitors will showcase their latest technologies and systems in the exhibit hall.

We are pleased you are making plans now to join us this year. For those who are returning and for those attending for the first time, it is my wish that your MILCOM 2002 experience is enjoyable and beneficial. Please keep in mind that, as your hosts, we are here to assist. I look forward to a stimulating and productive week at MILCOM 2002.
