Senior DoD Advisor Welcome Letter

Dear MILCOM 2003 Conference Attendee:

Welcome to the 22nd annual MILCOM Conference where leaders from government, industry, and academia gather to share their insight on transforming the United States military.  Our discussions will further the overall objective of shaping our forces to be lighter, faster and more effective on the battlefield.  The overall theme of MILCOM 2003 is very appropriate--“Transformation: Power to the Edge”

MILCOM 2003 offers a week full of superb military and civilian keynote speakers, over 100 unclassified and classified technical sessions, tutorials, panel discussions and exhibitions.  In addition, more than 100 industry exhibitors will demonstrate their latest technologies and systems.

We at the Electronic Systems Center are pleased to collaborate with our industry partners on making MILCOM 2003 a reality.  Our ability to work collaboratively with industry translates directly into improved technology for warfighters worldwide.

The symposium will be held in historic downtown Boston, Massachusetts at the beautiful Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center.  This venue will provide you with world-class accommodations and an opportunity to network with over 1000 expected attendees who all share the goal of transforming our armed forces.

I look forward to a stimulating and productive week at MILCOM 2003.

Lieutenant General William R. Looney III, USAF
Commander, Electronic Systems Center
