Near future systems shall make soldiers more agile so that they can deploy more quickly, adapt more readily to changes on the battlefield and strike more lethally. A key enabler is the ability to deliver information to forces across the battlefield when and where they need it while maintaining affordability. Multi-Mission Software Defined Systems enables integrated communications, gateways, Combat ID and Electronic Warfare Systems that can provide the war fighter with on the Move capability providing the needed flexibility for to address the threat environment. This paper will discuss multi-Mission Software Defined Systems architectures, security design and communications on the move waveforms. Implementation of next generation communication that addresses a specific threat environment is described. Model-based software code generation is described that permits both FPGA and DSP code portability and is key to such systems
