| The Joint Transformational vision, Joint NETOPS
CONOPS, and transformational programs represent a
shift to true network-centric operations and maximum
operational flexibility. To meet these challenges, DISA
and the various services direct the use of service oriented
architectures and, specifically, Network Centric Enterprise
Services (NCES). However, existing reference
implementations of these services are not well suited to the
unique nature of the tactical environment, with its
attendant resource limitations, equipment mobility,
dynamic network reconfiguration, and mission-oriented
adaptations. This white paper explores a tactical
analogue to NCES that allows effective network services to
be deployed to the war fighter through a combination of
Policy Based Management (PBM), Network Aware
applications and Network Operations (NETOPS). |
