This session focuses on some of the challenges facing mobile ad-hoc networks and solutions involving tighter than normal coupling among more than one protocol layers.

Bharat Doshi is the head of research at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. From 2005 to 2006, he was an endowed chair professor in University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He was a director in JHU/APL between 2003 and 2005. Prior to that, he worked at Bell Labs in various management and personal technical capacities. His research interests are network architectures, protocols, routing, restoration, and QoS. The domains include wireless and wired networks, IP networks, Optical Networks, and converged networks. He has over 120 publications and 40 patents. He is a Fellow of IEEE and a Fellow of Bell Labs.
