Analysis and Evaluation of Wireless Systems
Kivanc-Tureli, Didem
ORGANIZER: Elmasry, George
This session includes paper with focus on analysis and evaluation of wireless systems in general. Papers range from performance analysis and simulation studies to addressing security issues with wireless system to spectrum characteristics and detection of wireless signals.

George F. Elmasry received his B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Alexandria University, Egypt, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology. He is currently the president of the networking and communications division at DSCI. Before joining DSCI, he worked for General Dynamics C4S in the WIN-T. Prior to General Dynamics, he worked for Lucent Technologies in the Wireless Networks Wideband CDMA group. His research interests include the areas of wireless networking, ARQ, joint source and channel coding, and multidimensional interleaving. He holds over 35 publications and patents in these fields. He is also actively involved with technology conference organization and paper reviews.

Didem Kivanc-Tureli received the B.S. degree in 1994 from Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey, the M.S. degree in 1995 from the University of Surrey, U.K. and Ph.D. degree in 2005 from the University of Washington all in electrical engineering. Since January 2006, Dr. Kivanc has been a research associate at the Wireless Network Security Center (WiNSeC) at Stevens Institute of Technology. Her research interests include resource allocation for wireless systems and signal processing with application to broadband wireless networks.
