As technical program chair, Peter Bocon has overall responsibility for developing and facilitating the conference technical programs for MILCOM 2008.
As VIP Speakers program chair, Frederick Eisele is responsible for developing the VIP speaker program consisting of the keynotes, luncheons, banquet speakers and the Defense Forums. He interacts with VIP speakers on their presentations and audio visual requirements, the MILCOM 2008 structure and for agenda development.
He also coordinates with other MILCOM 2008 committee chairs on protocol, operations, publications and publicity that concerns VIP speaker venue, biographies, confirmations and requirements. Additionally, he chairs the VIP speaker selection committee.
As operations chair, David Ferrari oversees all aspects of MILCOM 2008. His role is in the management of schedules, facilities, catering, volunteers, registration, audiovisual, IT and transportation. He plays a critical role in the daily management of the conference.
As the communications/publicity chair, MB Hodgkiss has responsibility for all aspects related to MILCOM communications. Those responsibilities include advertising, public relations, website communications and all related publications. She is also the interface with the AFCEA publicity team.
As co-finance chair, Matthew Ofilos maintains the MILCOM 2008 Business Operations Office and works closely with the Raytheon Executive Committee to develop the MILCOM 2008 budget and set policies and procedures to maintain the accounting of all financial transactions.
As the protocol chair, Dan Ryan's role is to coordinate with AFCEA International and the VIP speaker chair, as well as coordinate the VIP itinerary. He is also responsible for welcome and hospitality during MILCOM 2008, which includes the welcome package, and providing registration assistance and VIP room support.
As the security chair, Keith Waddell is responsible for all aspects of security for MILCOM 2008. His goal is to implement comprehensive, protective measures that ensure the security of attendees, VIPs, property and intellectual and classified information against all possible threats.
As legal advisor, Bob Culp is responsible for reviewing all contracts concerning MILCOM 2008.
Bob is currently the Senior Counsel for Network Centric Systems (NCS) in Marlborough, MA. He handles legal work for NCS including contract and subcontract issues, protests, litigation and international matters. He has extensive international experience in both negotiating contracts and settling disputes
John M. (Jack) Howell is executive director for the IEEE Communications Society, the co-sponsoring organization for MILCOM 2008. Prior to his current IEEE ComSoc responsibilities, Mr. Howell held a variety of positions with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and spent an illustrious career with the United States government.
Elements of that career were with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the Air Force, notably as an instructor at the United States Air Force Academy, service with the Air Force Scientific Advisory Board, a tour in Vietnam, plus a variety of R&D management assignments. Mr. Howell was a member of the first graduating class from the U.S. Air Force Academy. He has a master of science in astrophysics from the University of Arizona. Mr. Howell is serving in an advisory capacity to this year’s host organization, Raytheon Company, for the MILCOM 2008 Conference.
Becky Nolan is executive vice president of AFCEA International, the co-sponsoring organization for MILCOM 2008. As AFCEA's primary liaison to MILCOM's host company each year, Ms. Nolan is responsible for exploring new opportunities for development and growth for MILCOM 2008, as well as assisting Raytheon Company with conference promotion, marketing, and public affairs programs.
Kevin Ramundo is the Communications Advisor for MILCOM 2008.
Kevin is currently the vice president of Communications for Network Centric Systems. He has responsibility for media relations, internal communications, marketing communications, corporate citizenship and contributions.
