As executive chair, Jerry Powlen is responsible for the overall vision and leadership of MILCOM 2008, and serves as liaison to the MILCOM board of directors.
Jerry is currently Vice President and General Manager of the Integrated Communications Systems (ICS) business within Raytheon’s Network Centric Systems (NCS). ICS is a leading provider of networked military communications solutions supporting the U.S. DoD’s Global Information Grid. He is also the Site Executive for the 1,500 NCS employees within the Marlborough, Mass., facility.
As executive director for MILCOM 2008 and chairperson of the Executive Committee, Robert Galligani is responsible for overseeing Raytheon's role as the official host company of MILCOM 2008.
Bob has been with Raytheon for more than 20 years, and currently runs the Navy SATCOM Engineering Development, Production and Services business. In this role his primary objective is to develop, produce and integrate complex C4I systems for a variety of domestic and international customers. Bob’s primary customer is the U.S. Navy; however, his base also includes U.S. DoD
As co-finance chair, David Ferrari maintains the MILCOM 2008 Business Operations Office and works closely with the Raytheon Executive Committee to develop the MILCOM 2008 budget and set policies and procedures to maintain the accounting of all financial transactions.
As co-finance chair, Matthew Ofilos maintains the MILCOM 2008 Business Operations Office and works closely with the Raytheon Executive Committee to develop the MILCOM 2008 budget and set policies and procedures to maintain the accounting of all financial transactions.
As VIP Speakers program chair, Frederick Eisele is responsible for developing the VIP speaker program consisting of the keynotes, luncheons, banquet speakers and the Defense Forums. He interacts with VIP speakers on their presentations and audio visual requirements, the MILCOM 2008 structure and for agenda development.
He also coordinates with other MILCOM 2008 committee chairs on protocol, operations, publications and publicity that concerns VIP speaker venue, biographies, confirmations and requirements. Additionally, he chairs the VIP speaker selection committee.
As the special events chair, Richard Evert is responsible for special events, including the Patron Event aboard USS Hornblower, the Midway Gala and entertainment aboard USS Midway, the golf tournament at Torrey Pines Golf Course, Tours for Spouses around San Diego, and the Symposium Gala at the Manchester Hyatt.
As the protocol chair, Owen Ryan's role is to coordinate with AFCEA International and the VIP speaker chair, as well as coordinate the VIP itinerary. He is also responsible for welcome and hospitality during MILCOM 2008, which includes the welcome package, and providing registration assistance and VIP room support.
As technical director, Peter Bocon has overall responsibility for developing and facilitating the conference technical programs for MILCOM 2008.
As the communications/publicity chair, MB Hodgkiss has responsibility for all aspects related to MILCOM communications. Those responsibilities include advertising, public relations, website communications and all related publications. She is also the interface with the AFCEA publicity team.
As the security chair, Raymond Elloso is responsible for all aspects of security for MILCOM 2008. His goal is to implement comprehensive, protective measures that ensure the security of attendees, VIPs, property and intellectual and classified information against all possible threats.
As operations chair, Joanne Hewins oversees all aspects of MILCOM 2008. Her role is in the management of schedules, facilities, catering, volunteers, registration, audiovisual, IT and transportation. She plays a critical role in the daily management of the conference.
